I enjoyed this book. It is definitely not The Expanse. This was a slow burner and a definite setup for a series. How many books will The Captive's War series be? I'm so used to reading sci-fi books focused on action, politics, military. The Mercy Of Gods focused on a group of reserachers. There are a wide range of aliens introduced, I enjoyed exploring their different make ups. The narration was good, same steady voice throughout the story, just how I would read in my head. Looking forward to what happens next in the story.
